• Girls soccer swept Conneaut with a pair of shutouts. Varsity defeated the Eagles, 12-0. Jordan Senz earned the shutout in goal. Olivia Dixon had four goals. CC Cacchione had two goals and three assists. Peyton Rogers had two goals and two assists. Jordyn DiRaimo scored twice, while Brooklyn DiRaimo and Kate Toohey also found the mesh. JV picked up a 6-0 victory. Goals came from Kara Troutman, Shelby Abogunde, Sophia Stinson, Gigi Hiner, Cecilia Bizzaro, and Amelia Brown. ⚽️

Kamryn Resurreccion had 28 assists and seven digs. Coco Speros had nine kills. Carolina Krahe and Olivia Hutchinson finished with seven kills each. Mackenzie Moore had 10 digs, while Kharhys Nickson finished with 10 kills. JV lost their matchup, 2-0. 🏐 • Girls cross country defeated McDowell, 25-31. Anne-Catherine Brown finished first overall. Fina Bannister was third. Allison Bender finished fourth. Students in Ms. Kabasinski's forensic science class are in the middle of their crime scene unit. Forensic science independent study student Mya Schenker '25 created the crime scenes and planted the evidence. Students had to go secure the scene, photograph, sketch, gather evidence, and decide which suspect committed the crime! #Prep #Forensics

• Boys soccer swept McDowell. Varsity defeated the Trojans, 2-1, in an overtime thriller. Michael McDonald scored the game winner off a corner kick from Mac Johnson. James DiSanza scored the Ramblers’ first goal off a corner from Johnson. JV picked up a 2-0 victory. Will Agresti and Jackson Lauria scored, while Breese Stoeger earned the shutout in goal. ⚽️
• Boys golf finished second in the Region match at Lake Shore Country Club. Cooper Wierzchowski was a medalist with a 74, while Connor Laird shot a 76. Andrew Costello shot an 82. Joseph Prichard and Santino Washburn shot an 86 and 87, respectively. ⛳️
• Girls golf took fourth in their Region match at Union City Country Club. Emily Dudenhoeffer led the Ramblers with a 49. Claire Williams shot a 51, while Cecelia Morgan shot a 52. ⛳️
• Hockey kicked off their season with a 6-0 shutout over Meadville in a varsity-only matchup. Tucker Kinnear had a hat trick, while Ashton Duchini, Nick Pugne, and Chris Bruschi also scored. Rylan Sorge had four assists. Mathius Sprickman and Duchini each had a pair of assists, while Charlie McBrier also had an assist. Ian Brown earned the shutout in net. 🏒
• LATE WEEKEND SCORE: Boys golf finished third in the NDCL Lion Classic at Quail Hollow Country Club. Cooper Wierzchowski finished third among individuals with a score of 74.⛳️

• Girls tennis shutout Magnificat (OH), 5-0. Finleigh Handzel, Sophia Glance, and Margaret Prichard were straight set winners in singles. Lilli and Lydia Beuchert won in straight sets in doubles, as did Katie Kuhar/Laura Hetrick. 🎾
• Girls cross country won the Pat Ritchie Invitational at Walsh Jesuit (OH). Anne-Catherine Brown placed fourth overall, while Fina Bannister finished fifth. Reagan Johnston, Allison Bender, and Makayla Stutts finished 14th, 15th, and 16th, respectively. 👟
• Boys water polo took part in the Tiger Classic at North Allegheny, finishing 3-1 on the weekend. They won their opener over Lower Merion, 15-5. Callum Snider-Mills had eight goals. Owen Carson had a hat trick, while Ely Cooney had a pair. Heath Kreidinger and Joe Mascharka also scored. Dan Kubiak made four saves, while JD Cullen made a pair. They would then get a win over Governor Mifflin, 16-9. Snider-Mills and Colin Troutman each had four goals. Carson had another hat trick. Cooney and Thomas Fortin had two apiece. Kreidinger had the other tally. Kubiak stopped 10 shots. They would take their third game in a tight one against Reading, 11-10. Snider-Mills had seven goals, while Cooney added a pair. Fortin and Kreidinger also scored. Kubiak made two saves. The Ramblers would close with a tough loss to Cumberland Valley, 14-9. Snider-Mills once again led the way with four goals. Cooney and Troutman each had two goals, while Carson also scored. Kubiak made five saves in goal. 🤽♂️
• Girls water polo also took part in the Tiger Classic, going 1-2. They would also win their opener over Lower Merion, 12-4. Megan Cardella had seven goals. Savannah Wierzchowski had a hat trick, while Alexis Ferrare and Kate Patsy also scored. Bri Ryan made three saves. They would fall in their second game, 12-3, to Governor Mifflin. Anna Socash had all three goals. Ryan made 10 saves. In their final game, the Ramblers fell to Cumberland Valley, 11-2. Cardella and Ferrare scored. Ryan made eight saves. 🤽♀️
• Boys cross country also raced in the Pat Ritchie Invitational. They finished 12th. James Burkett placed 21st overall. Noah Lata was 23rd. 👟
• Football split their matchups against Riverside (OH). Varsity captured their home opener over the Beavers, 16-14. Corey Allen and Charbel Latouf had rushing touchdowns for the Ramblers. Allen also had an interception. Cam Christman hit the go-ahead field goal in the fourth. JV lost their matchup 33-22. Alex Kamholz had touchdowns through the air to Ronan Mourton and Cameron Sansom. He also scored on the ground. 🏈
• Boys soccer split their doubleheader with Canisius (NY). Varsity picked up a 1-0 victory behind Cam Dunbar’s goal. AJ Sirianni had the shutout in net. JV fell to the Crusaders, 4-0. ⚽
• Girls soccer battled McDowell to a 2-2 draw in a varsity-only matchup. Olivia Dixon and Peyton Rogers scored for the Ramblers. Dixon and Jordyn DiRaimo had assists. ⚽
• Girls volleyball took part in the St. Mary’s (NY) Tournament. The Ramblers finished 1-1-1 in pool play. The fell to the hosts, 2-0, before tying Grand Island (NY), 1-1. They would close pool play with a 2-0 win over Fredonia (NY). They would advance to the semifinals against Williamsville South (NY), but fall to the Billies in three sets, 2-1.🏐



It has been a busy week for Prep's AFJROTC!
Six of our cadets got the opportunity to perform color guard duties at the Cleveland Guardians game on Sunday, September 1. They also got to watch the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels perform at the Cleveland Air Show after the game.
Along with unforgettable experiences, teamwork is at the heart of the AFJROTC curriculum. Yesterday, our freshman and sophomore cadets participated in their annual retreat to WLD Ranch and had a chance to enjoy working together while building their leadership skills.

• Girls soccer picked up a 5-2 victory over Nichols (NY) in a varsity-only matchup. Olivia Dixon and Peyton Rogers each scored a pair. Mackenzie Prather also scored. ⚽
• Boys varsity soccer earned their first win of the season, besting Nichols (NY), 5-0. Max Johnson had a hat trick. ⚽
• Boys golf finished second in the Corry Invitational. Connor Laird finished third with 74. Cooper Wierzchowski posted a 76. Santino Washburn and Joseph Prichard each shot 80, while Andrew Costello shot 81. ⛳
• Girls golf finished third in their Region match at Scenic Heights. Lilly Kilmer led the Ramblers with a 46. Clair Williams and Emily Dudenhoeffer each shot 47. ⛳

• Boys golf slid past Fairview by four strokes to maintain their Region golf advantage. Cooper Wierzchowski and Connor Laird each shot 71 to claim medalist honors. Andrew Costello shot an 81, while Sonny Washburn and Joseph Prichard both carded an 82. ⛳
• Girls tennis swept Mercyhurst Prep, 5-0. Finleigh Handzel, Sophia Glance, and Laura Hetrick were straight set winners in singles. In doubles, Margaret Prichard/Lilli Beuchert and Lydia Beuchert/Katie Kuhar also won in straight sets. 🎾
• Girls water polo opened their season with a 10-7 victory versus McDowell. Bri Ryan made 21 saves in net. Megan Cardella had a hat trick. Kate Patsy and Savannah Wierzchowski each scored a pair. Rachel Patton, Alexis Ferrare, and Anna Socash also scored. 🤽♀️
• Boys water polo completed the sweep with am 18-9 victory over the Trojans. Colin Troutman had five goals in the win. Callum Snider-Mills had four goals. Coco Speros finished with 11 kills and five digs. Carolina Krahe had nine kills and 10 digs. Olivia Hutchinson had 19 kills. Ellen Hutchinson had five aces, while Mackenzie Moore had 16 digs. Congratulations to Olivia Dixon ’25. She has committed to play soccer at the next level on scholarship for Gannon University. Cathedral Prep Holiday Weekend Athletics Roundup:
• Football swept Sharon. Varsity defeated the Tigers, 33-7, at Westminster College. They outscored their opponents 27-0 in the second half. DaZarie Carson rushed for 209 yards and three touchdowns. Joe Himes and Ramir Wallace also had rushing touchdowns for the Ramblers. JV won their Saturday matchup. 30-8. Eli Elwell, Davion Edmond, and Zion Clark scored on the ground for the Ramblers. Jameson Hertel also hit Alex Kamholz for a score. 🏈
• Girls cross country captured the Rocket Invitational in Titusville. The Ramblers were led by a first-place finish by Anne-Catherine Brown in 19:02. Fina Bannister was fourth. Reagan Johnston took eighth, while Makayla Stutts followed in ninth. Zita Scheidel was 14th. 👟
• Boys cross country also participated in the Rocket Invitational, finishing eighth overall. James Burkett finished in 13th place. Noah Lata was 25th. Nick Kupnieski, Jeremiah Pruzenski, Michael Brown and Joe Dieteman also scored for the Ramblers. 👟
• Girls soccer kicked off their season at the Avonworth Tournament. They won their opener against the hosts, 2-0. Olivia Dixon scored both goals, while CC Cacchione and Brooklyn DiRaimo had assists. Jordan Senz earned the shutout in goal. They would fall to Bethel Park in the championship game, 2-1, in penalty kicks. Dixon scored the lone goal in regulation. ⚽
• Boys soccer was swept by Western Reserve Academy (OH). Varsity fell to the Pioneers, 6-0, while JV also lost by the same count. ⚽

• Girls volleyball swept Erie High. Varsity kicked off their season with a 3-0 win over the Royals. Kamryn Resurreccion had 24 assists and nine digs. Coco Speros finished with 11 kills. Olivia Hutchinson had seven kills and blocks. Mackenzie Moore had five aces, while Ellen Hutchinson and Kharhys Nickson each had five kills. JV began the night with a 2-1 victory. 🏐
• Boys golf fashioned a 28-stroke Region win at Lake View Country Club. Cooper Wierzchowski carded a 73, one shot better than teammate Connor Laird. Andrew Costello and Sonny Washburn each had a 79, while Joseph Prichard finished with an 87. ⛳
• Girls golf finished sixth in their Region match. Claire Williams and Cecelia Morgan each shot a 48 to lead the way. Abby Miller shot a 61. ⛳

• Football swept Erie High. Varsity kicked off their season with an 18-6 victory over the Royals. Davin Friedman connected with Charbel Latouf for a touchdown, while KJ Williams also ran one in. Cam Christman hit a 38-yard field goal. Defense held Erie to under 100 total yards and had four interceptions. JV completed the sweep with a 20-0 victory. Eli Elwell had a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown. Alex Kamholz and Davion Edmond had scores on the ground for the Ramblers. 🏈
• Girls golf competed in the Blue Devil Classic at Shawnee Hills Golf Course (OH). The Ramblers took 10th overall. Cecelia Morgan led the way with a 92. Emily Dudenhoeffer and Claire Williams followed with a 94 and 96, respectively. ⛳
• The boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Riverside Invitational in Painesville, OH. Varsity girls placed sixth out of 29 teams. They were led by the 15th place individual finish of Fina Bannister, who finished the 5k race in 19:42. Reagan Johnston also medaled with a 25th place finish in 19:57. The varsity top seven runners were Bannister, R. Johnston, Makayla Stutts, Zita Schiedel, Allison Bender, Kendal Johnston, and Sophia Swanseger. In the girls JV race, Sophie Becker placed sixth overall. The team finished seventh out of a field of 27 teams. The boys team was led by Noah Lata's 114th place finish in 17:52. The boys varsity lineup included Lata, Nick Kupniewski, Jeremai Pruzenski, Michael Brown, Joe Dieteman, Nate Gannoe, and Sam Konzel. 👟

• LATE MONDAY SCORE: Boys golf also competed at the Wildcat Golf Invitational at Latrobe Country Club. Nik Blanchard had the low round for the Ramblers with an 86. Also posting were Calvin Ferry, Aaron Kupniewski, Mason Gregor, and Bode Terry. ⛳
