Five juniors attended the Rotary Club of Erie’s Ethics Symposium today. They had the opportunity to hear from Rotary members and Mercyhurst University professors speak on ethical topics and decision making. Students were able to engage with the four-way test to determine what is the truth, what is fair, what builds goodwill and friendship, and what’s beneficial to all involved. #Prep #EthicsSymposium

AFJROTC cadets had the honor of presenting the Nation’s colors at Sunday’s Buffalo Sabres game celebrating team’s annual Girls and Women in Sports Night. In recognition of the evening’s theme, the unit proudly fielded an all-female color guard, highlighting the leadership, professionalism, and dedication of the program’s female cadets in front of thousands of fans.

Back in September 2025, a dozen show choir students auditioned for the 2026 American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division Honors Choirs. They were pitted against almost 2000 other students who also submitted auditions from the 12 Northeast states that make up the ACDA Eastern Division. Of the 12 show choir students that auditioned, 10 made it into the ACDAEast Honors Choirs, three in the SATB Honors Choir and seven in the SSAA Honors Choir. They were 10 of the close to 450 that were accepted into the SATB and SSAA Honors Choirs! While we have had students audition and make it in past years, having 10 be accepted in one year is a Prep/Villa record. Congratulations to these 10 student musicians and Music Director Andrew Alesso! Over the winter months, these 10 student musicians prepared a very challenging folder of music, most of it being college-level and above in difficulty. This past week, they traveled to Providence, RI to the ACDA Eastern Convention at the RI Convention Center. There, each student had to pass through a secondary audition to show their knowledge and skill with the music. They then participated in three days of rehearsals that ended with amazing concert performances at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium (The VETS). The SATB Honors Choir was led by Music Director Dr. Marques L.A. Garrett, a professor of choral studies at the University of North Texas. The SSAA Honors Choir was led by the renowned Music Director Ms. Cindy Ellis from Cuba. She is the choral director at Miami Arts Studio, a performing arts magnet school in Miami, FL. Congratulations to Lauren Proper ’26, Alivia Bean ’26, Theresa Ferraro ’27, Indya Laureano ’27, Marcellus McClure ’27, Christian Mungarurire ’27, Kate Patsy ’27, Natahly Rosales ’26, Isabella Wojtasik ’27, and Isabella Wygant ’27. Lauren Proper was also the only participant to audition on two separate occasions and make the ACDAEast Honors Choir! They all performed at a high level of achievement and represented Prep well! We are so proud of you! #Prep #MVP 🎶

AFJROTC cadets recently took their leadership to new heights during a visit to Meadville Regional Airport, where they partnered with the Civil Air Patrol for an unforgettable aviation experience. Flying aboard a Cessna 172, cadets had the opportunity to take the controls under the guidance of a certified CAP pilot, gaining hands-on insight into the fundamentals of flight.
The experience strengthened their understanding of aerospace science, built confidence in real-world decision making, and reinforced the Air Force core values of integrity, service, and excellence. Opportunities like this highlight AFJROTC’s commitment to developing future leaders by connecting classroom instruction with meaningful, real-world experiences in aviation and public service. #Prep
