Junior Achievement kicked off yesterday! 130 students stayed after school to learn from Michael Parsons ’08 of LPL Financial and We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym. This year’s program will be the Junior Achievement Company Program, which teaches students practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize, and manage their own business venture. Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization teaching youth about financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. They help give young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. #Prep #JuniorAchievement

• Girls swimming & diving picked up the season sweep over McDowell with their 113-72 victory. Maria Costa and Ellie Natemeier were quadruple winners. Jaslene Cage and Kendal Johnston each took three events, while Josie Dufala won a pair. 🏊♀️
• Boys swimming & diving also picked up a sweep of the Trojans, 95-88. Jack Raimy was a triple winner. Evan Calvert and Colin Troutman each won two events. Ted Terrizzi won the diving competition. 🏊♂️
• Girls basketball picked up a sweep over Fort LeBoeuf. Varsity defeated the Bison, 72-34, behind 24 points from Addie Biel. Jayden McBride had 13, while McKenna Valone and Lena Walz each had 12. The Ramblers clinched the Region with their win, which was the 19th straight for the Villa/Prep girls basketball program. JVs completed the sweep with a 50-19 win. Mady Brzezinski had 20 to lead the way. Jasmine Woodard finished with 10 points, while Grace Orlando added nine. 🏀
• Varsity hockey defeated Baldwin, 4-1. Logan Taylor, Rylan Sorge, Ethan Cunningham, and Nick Pugne scored for the Ramblers. Tanner Ball made 26 saves in net. 🏒
• Wrestling fell to Pennridge, 48-13, in the first round of the PIAA team tournament. Andrew Gammon (133) won by fall. Gabe Dorman (145) picked up a major decision, while Bo Martucci won by decision. 🤼♂️
• Freshmen boys basketball defeated Slippery Rock, 42-22. 🏀
AFJROTC cadets once again took to the skies yesterday with Civil Air Patrol. Cadets that flew yesterday were a part of the record 50 flown in a single school year. Aviation lessons are at the heart of the AFJROTC curriculum presented here at Cathedral Prep. #Prep #AFJROTC

• Bowling fell to McDowell in the season finale, 27-1. Emalie Thomas finished her accomplished bowling career with the high game of 200. Ava Hensler had the high series of 481. She moves on to regionals in Pittsburgh on March 8. 🎳

Congratulations to RJ Roberts ’24. He has committed to play football next season for Gannon University on scholarship. • Boys basketball went 1-2 on the night. Varsity picked up another big Region victory, 69-53, over General McLane. Amaree Pickens had 13 points. Spencer Kanne and Ahmari Horton each had 11 points, while Derek Galla also had 11 to go with eight rebounds. JVs dropped their matchup against the Lancers, 78-47. Freshmen fell to Mercyhurst Prep, 53-36. 🏀

• Girls basketball picked up a sweep over McDowell. Varsity, ranked #2 in AAAAA, doubled up the Trojans, 54-27. The Ramblers hit eleven three-pointers in the game, with six coming from Lena Walz. She led all scorers with 26 points. Jayden McBride had 10 assists, setting a program single game record. JVs picked up a 27-21 victory. 🏀
• Girls swimming & diving picked up the season sweep over Meadville with their 114-63 victory. Maria Costa was a quadruple winner, while Josie Dufala took home three events. Chloe Borrero and Jaslene Cage each won a pair. Sarah Fowler won in diving. 🏊♀️
• Boys swimming & diving also completed their season sweep of the Bulldogs, 140-24. Jack Raimy won four events. Owen Carson, Colin Troutman and Callum Snider-Mills were triple winners. Drew Brown and Matt Hinman each won a pair. Ted Terrizzi took home the diving competition. 🏊♂️

• Girls basketball picked up a huge bounce-back victory over Laurel (OH), 61-43, in a varsity-only matchup. A 19-4 run to end the first half turned the game around. Natalie Spano led with 17 points. Lena Walz had 16, while Jayden McBride added 15. 🏀
• Boys basketball split their doubleheader against Fort LeBoeuf. Varsity rolled to an 82-50 win over the Bison. Derek Galla led the Ramblers with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Nando Mirarchi had 13 points, while Amaree Pickens finished with 12. Michael Thompson and Spencer Kanne each had 11. JVs dropped their matchup, 55-41. 🏀
Congratulations to Lauren Raimy ’24. She has committed to run cross country and track & field at Division I Fordham University on scholarship. Lauren has been part of four D-10 cross country championships, as well as a state title in 2022 and a state runner-up this past season. She was a state medalist in cross country, indoor and outdoor track, and is currently ranked eighth in indoor track for the 1600m and 12th for the 800m in Pennsylvania. #Prep #RollRamblers #StudentAthlete 👟

• Congratulations to the Wrestling team! They captured the District 10 AAA championship over Hickory, 48-19, to go back-to-back. They began the night with a 57-12 win over McDowell in the semifinal. Gabe Dorman (145), Max Spaulding (215), Omar Arrington (285), Will English (114), Amir Johnson (121), and Keagan Oler (127) all scored falls. Bo Martucci (160) won by technical fall, while Aiden Carter (107) scored a major decision. In the championship match, Brandon Byrd (152), Martucci (160), Corey Kowalski (189), Spaulding (215), Arrington (285), and Dorman (145) had pins. Carter (107) scored another major decision, while Oler (127) scored a decision. Congratulations to Coach Hahesy and the team! They are headed back to Hershey! 🏆🤼♂️🍫

• Indoor track competed in their third NEOITC Conference meet at Spire Institute. David Adams-Prince took third in the high jump. The boys 4x800 relay of Hank Partridge, Roman Hamm, Ashton Sharma and Nick Kupniewski took third. The girls 4x800 relay of Sarah Teed, Lauren Raimy, Caitlin Dugan and Allison Bender also took third. Anne-Catherine Brown took first in the 1600, while Bender finished third. Raimy won the 800, while Reagan Johnston took third. Our six seniors were also honored last night! 👟
• Varsity hockey fell to Seneca Valley, 5-3. Vinnie Scalise, Rylan Sorge, and Braydan McGarry scored for the Ramblers. Tanner Ball had 32 saves in net. 🏒
