Congratulations to Emily Dudenhoeffer ’25. She has committed to play softball next season at Saint Vincent College. Dudenhoeffer helped the Ramblers to their second straight District 10 title a season ago and to a 16-7 record. Mrs. Lucas and the dance program were thrilled to unveil their dance studio’s first-ever mural. This stunning work of art was created by our talented 2024 contest winner and featured artist, Adrienne Catrabone ’25! The unveiling ceremony, held on the last day before Christmas break, was an unforgettable event as we celebrated in front of our dance and art students, as well as the Catrabone family. This incredible mural wouldn’t have been possible without the vision and collaboration of Mrs. Duda, whose support helped make this dream a reality. Cathedral Prep Holiday Break Athletics Roundup: • Boys varsity basketball competed in the Catholic Christmas Showcase at Bishop McDevitt. The Ramblers fell in their first game, 77-51, to Our Lady of Mount Carmel (MD). Nando Mirarchi had 17 points, while Michael Thompson added 12. They would drop their second game of the showcase to Berks Catholic, 52-49. Mirarchi had 13 points, while Ahmari Horton and Thompson each had 11. Boys JV basketball lost to Erie High, 62-39. Boys freshmen basketball also fell to Erie High, 45-37. Eli Elwell had 10 points, while Matthew Nedreski finished with eight. 🏀

Students participated in our 12th annual Box Village at the end of November. Funds raised from the event will benefit the Emmaus Soup Kitchen. On Friday, Director of Emmaus Ministries Sister Valerie Luckey, OSB stopped by campus and was presented with a check for $856.66! #Prep #Service #Community 📦

Cathedral Prep Weekend Athletics Roundup: • Girls swimming took second in the Viking Invitational at Cleveland State University. The 200 relay of Maria Costa, Jaslene Cage, Ellie Natemeier, and Kendal Johnston finished second. Natemeier took 16th in the 200 free. Costa finished fourth in the 200 IM, while Cage finished sixth. Brianne Ryan took 17th. Johnston took sixth in the 50 free. Natemeier finished fifth in the 100 fly. Johnston took 13th in the 100 free, while Chloe Borrero finished 15th. Aubrey Bender took 18th. The 200 free relay of Costa, Bender, Johnston, and Cage took third. Costa finished third in the 100 back. Borrero took eighth. Cage took sixth in the 100 breaststroke. Ryan took 15th. The 400 free relay of Borrero, Ryan, Bender, and Natemeier took sixth. 🏊‍♀️ • Boys swimming came away with a sixth-place finish in the Viking Invitational. The 200 medley relay of Jack Raimy, Matt Hinman, Andrew Dutchcot, and Colin Troutman finished eigthth. Callum Snider-Mills took 19th in the 200 free. Owen Carson finished 14th in the 200 IM. Raimy took second in the 50 free. While Troutman took 16th. Raimywould finished fifth in the 100 fly, while Dutchcot finished 19th. Troutman finished 14th in the 100 free. Carson took fourth in the 500 free. The 200 free relay of Hinman, Snider-Mills, Thomas Fortin, and Carson took ninth. Dutchcot finished 17th in the 100 back, while Jackman Callaway finished 20th. Ben Camera took 18th in the 100 breastroke. The 400 free relay of Troutman, Fortin, Snider-Miils, and Raimy finished sixth. 🏊‍♂️ • Girls varsity basketball wrapped up play in the KSA Tournament in Orlando. They earned a 56-21 win over Thrall (TX). Addie Biel led the Ramblers with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Natalie Spano, Seana Thrower, and Grace Orlando all scored nine points each. They would fall to Copper Hills (UT), one of the top ranked teams in Utah, 41-36, in their final game. Biel paced the Ramblers with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Spano and Thrower each had 8 points. 🏀 • Boys varsity basketball closed out their slate at the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas. The Ramblers fell in the final second to Leuzinger (CA), 46-45. Michael Thompson had 15 points, while Ahmari Horton finished with 11. In their final game, and for the second day in a row, they lost by one point. They lost their matchup against RWG Academy (TX), 58-57. Max Wallace led the Ramblers with 15 points, while Nando Mirarchi added 10. Back home, boys freshmen basketball fell to St. Ignatius (OH), 55-44. Matthew Nedreski had 18 points, while Eli Elwell finished with eight points. 🏀

Michael Thompson had 17 points to lead the way. Nando Mirarchi finished with 12 points. Max Wallace added 11, while Ahmari Horton had 10. Boys freshmen basketball fell to Hickory, 40-37. Conner Euston had 10 points, while Eli Elwell and Jackson Lauria each had nine points. 🏀 • Wrestling their second victory over McDowell in less than a week, 60-3. Kamdyn Borrero (127), Andrew Gammon (145), Gabe Dorman (152), Brandon Byrd (172), Omar Arrington (215), and Max Spaulding (285) all had pins for the Ramblers. In 1990, the National Black Catholic Clergy Caucus designated November as Black Catholic History Month. In conjunction with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie, we celebrated Black Catholic History Month with an infographic contest. Our Dance department was honored to welcome Ashley Lauria, a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) and international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), as a guest speaker. Ashley shared invaluable insights on proper nutrition for dancers, covering how to fuel the body before, during, and after rehearsals and performances. She discussed the importance of balanced meals, hydration, and effective snacking while debunking common food myths. We sincerely thank Ashley for taking the time to speak with our dancers, sharing her expertise, and providing helpful resources to support their health and well-being. The Ramblers picked up a big win, 72-64, win over Christian Brothers (CA) their first round game. Nando Mirarchi had 21 points in his first game of the season. Michael Thompson had 19, while Ahmari Horton finished with 13. 🏀 • Bowling fell to McDowell, 27-1. 🎳 • LATE TUESDAY SCORES: Wrestling rolled to a 57-5 win over Seneca. Gabe Dorman (152), Colin O'Rourke (127), and Sam Harrington (189) all won by fall. Bode Terry (172) picked up a decision, while Andrew Gammon (145), Tucker Palotas (160), Alex Hagerty (215), Omar Arrington (285), Johnayha Brunson (107), and Amir Johnson (133) won by forfeit.🤼‍♂️Varsity hockey picked up a 3-0 shutout over Baldwin. 🏒Boys freshmen basketball defeated Slippery Rock, 61-31. Cathedral Prep Athletics Roundup for Monday, December 16: • Girls basketball swept Harbor Creek. Varsity picked up a 56-22 victory over the Huskies. Addie Biel led the way with 26 points and 20 rebounds. She also eclipsed 1,000 career points in the victory! Natalie Spano scored 15, while Seana Thrower added 11. JV won their matchup, 44-25. Brooklyn DiRaimo and Bella Scheloske each scored 12 points to lead the way. 🏀 • Girls swimming & diving opened their Region schedule with a 111-21 win over Erie High. Jaslene Cage and Maria Costa each won four events. Chloe Borrero captured three races, while Ellie Natemeier, Kendal Johnston, and Brianne Ryan all won twice. Ange Terrizzi took the diving competition. 🏊‍♀️ • Boys swimming & diving also kicked off their Region slate with a win over Erie High, 123-13. Matt Hinman was a triple winner. Michael Thompson had 19 points, while Spencer Kanne finished with 18. They would fall to the hosts in the championship game, 74-54. Sebastian Wofford had 19 points. 🏀 • Wrestling hosted the Rambler Duals in the Joann Mullen Gymnasium. The Ramblers went 6-0 and won the team title. They began with a 70-6 victory over St. Joe’s (NY). Andrew Gammon (145), Tucker Palotas (152), Jaden Crockett (160), Bode Terry (172), Omar Arrington (215), Max Spaulding (285), Aiden Carter (114), Davion Edmond (121), and Amir Johnson (133) all had pins. Show Choir begins their winter concert tour of the area this week, performing several concerts in the community. One of these concerts is being the featured choir for Tennessee Backporch in their annual “Follow the Star” concert tour. They will be performing this Sunday, December 15, at 4:00 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Church. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students. They will also be performing at HANDS - St. Joseph Apartments, SSJ Motherhouse, and in our MVP Winter Showcase next Tuesday, December 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the H.
