Student Council held their annual Cereal Drive last Monday for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania. This year, our school community donated a total of 413 boxes of cereal for those in need. This is just one of many ways our Ramblers serve our community! #Prep #Community 🥣

Cathedral Prep AFJROTC hosted the 31st JROTC Joint Military Ball. The ball is a way to bring all the Erie County JROTC’s together for a farewell to the seniors and a fun night. Cathedral Prep Athletics Roundup for Monday, April 6: • Boys tennis picked up a 5-0 Region win over Meadville. Gavin Ferretti, Charbel Moubarak, and Justin Yochim won in singles. Michael Ferraro/Ty Hulick and Joseph Prichard/Quentin Cuzzola were victorious in doubles. 🎾 • Boys lacrosse also defeated Meadville in a varsity-only matchup, 13-6. Nate Klan had four goals. Rory Callaghan and Rylan Sorge each scored three apiece. Charlie McBrier had a goal and four assists, while Andrew Timon and Matt Bansidhar each scored and had an assist. Lohan Mastrian had a pair of assists. Ian Brown made 15 saves. 🥍

Cathedral Prep Weekend Athletics Roundup: • Varsity baseball closed out the Wolves Classic winning three of their last four and a runner-up finish. They defeated Gila Ridge, 8-4, in their second game to earn their first win of the season. Jacob Koshan went four innings on the hill for the victory. He also drove in a pair of runs. Mathius Sprickman and Frank Thomas each had two hits. They would then pick up an 8-3 win over Cesar Chavez (AZ). Davin Friedman had a pair of hits and drove in three. Andrew Costello, Matthew Boam, and AJ Sirianni also had two hits apiece. A 7-4 win over Alhambra (AZ) propelled them to the championship game. Costello had three hits and scored three runs in the comeback win. Davin Friedman drove in a pair. They would fall in the Wolves Classic championship game to ALA-West Foothills in a great back and forth, 12-11, in eight innings. Costello had a two-run homerun and an RBI double. KJ Williams had three hits, while Friedman had two RBIs. ⚾ • Track & field kicked off their season at the Lancer Relays at General McLane. The boys finished fourth overall, while the girls finished fifth. On the boys side, the 4x100 relay of Devin Easter, Hunter Sullivan, Gavin Easter, and Taijoun Williams finished first. The 4x400 relay of Roman Hamm, Sullivan, Will English, and Declan Toohey were also victorious. For the girls, the 4x1600 relay of Sarah Teed, Makayla Stutts, Fina Bannister, and Anne-Catherine Brown took first. They 4x800 relay Brown, Stutts, Teed, and Reagan Johnston were victorious. The same foursome returned to also win the Distance Medley relay. 👟 • Boys lacrosse split their doubleheader with St. Francis (NY). Varsity won their matchup against the Red Raiders, 8-7. Andrew Timon scored a pair of goals, while Rylan Sorge, Nate Klan, Lohan Mastrian, Charlie McBrier, Rory Callaghan, and Jacob Abbott also sored. Sorge and Klan each had a pair of assists, while Mastrian also had an assist. Ian Brown made 18 saves in net. JV lost their game, 10-8. Callaghan had three goals. Matt Bansidhar scored a pair of goals. Logan Morris, Zeke Rees, and Jack Whitman also scored. Robbie Brown had an assist. TJ Hiner made three saves. 🥍 • Boys tennis picked up a 5-0 Region victory over Mercyhurst Prep. Colin Troutman, Cameron Grieshaber, and Michael Ferraro won in singles. Ty Hulick/Quentin Cuzzola took home a victory in doubles. 🎾 • Girls lacrosse fell to Lake Catholic (OH), 9-3. 🥍 • LATE HOCKEY SCORES: Varsity hockey competed in the Chipotle-USA Hockey High School Nationals held in Irvine, California from March 26-30. They dropped their first game, 5-2, to the Rushmore Thunder (SD). Tucker Kinnear and Rylan Sorge scored. Ethan Cunningham and Vinny Scalise had assists. Ian Brown made 37 saves in net. They would lose their second game to the Omaha Jr. Lancers (NE), 6-0. The Ramblers closed their trip with a 6-0 win over McKinney (TX). Mathius Sprickman scored a pair. Henry Fritts, Jared Montagna, Sorge, and Brady Sack also scored. Nick Hoke and Sprickman each had a pair of assists. Sorge, Ashton Duchini, and Garrett Schwartz also had assists. Brown secured the shutout with 13 saves in net. 🏒

Andrew Costello had a pair of hits and four stolen bases. Derick Friedman and Mathius Sprickman each drove in a run. ⚾ • Girls varsity lacrosse lost to Boardman (OH), 11-2. Niagara Millen scored both goals for the Ramblers. 🥍 • Boys tennis dropped a tough one to Orange (OH), 5-0. 🎾

Bradley Ng, Gavin Ferretti, and Charbel Moubarak all won in straight sets in singles. The tandems of Cameron Grieshaber/Michael Ferraro and Colin Troutman/Ty Hulick also won in straight sets. 🎾

Cathedral Prep Athletics Roundup for Tuesday, April 1: • Softball earned a 10-6 win over Fairview to win their first game of the season. Kendyll Steves went 3-4 with four RBIs and two stolen bases, while Addison Baldi was 3-4 with a pair of runs driven in and three steals. 🥎

Jabo, vocation director for the Diocese of Erie and former president of Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria Academy, to have discussions with a group of men about discernment and vocation. Gavin Ferretti, Charbel Moubarak, Colin Troutman, and Cameron Grieshaber were all victorious. 🎾 • Girls varsity lacrosse earned their first win of the campaign. They defeated Meadville, 17-4. Niagara Millen had eight goals and an assist. Sarah Snell and Gigi Hiner each added a hat trick. Jordyn DiRaimo, Kamryn Resurreccion, and Azlyn Miller also scored. Hannah Dacus and Lily Gallagher each had an assist. Allison Deiner made 10 saves in goal. 🥍 • Varsity softball fell in their first game of the season, 13-7, to Lincoln Park. Morgan Madura had two hits and drove in three runs, while Kendyll Steves had three hits. 🥎 • Boys varsity lacrosse dropped a pair of games over the weekend. The Ramblers fell to Bethel Park on Friday, 17-0. Jacob Miles made nine saves. They lost to Canisius (NY) in their Saturday matchup, 17-2. Rory Callaghan and Andrew Timon scored, while Lohan Mastrian and Nate Klan each had an assist. Miles made four saves. 🥍

AFJROTC cadets paid a visit to the AFROTC cadets of Detachment 730 at the University of Pittsburgh. Our cadets participated in a college-level leadership lab, attended an ROTC academic class, took the official University of Pittsburgh tour, ate lunch in the school cafeteria, and enjoyed a ride on the Duquesne Incline. #Prep
