The senior class activities continued for the Class of 2024 yesterday with a full slate of activity. First, our seniors traveled to Peek'n Peak Resort for their Senior Retreat! They took on the adventure course, played miniature golf, had Mass, and enjoyed various activities with their brothers and sisters. They closed the day with their Senior Banquet! Yesterday, several members of our school community received one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation) at a special Mass held by Fr. While the rain came down later in the day, it ended up being a great day for Sports Day last Friday! From flag football, to pickleball, to bocce, to Super Smash Bros., to pin dodgeball, events took place all over the Hagerty Family Events Center and Dollinger Field. Ultimately, the Class of 2026 went back-to-back and took home the crown once again, while the Class of 2027 earned runner-up honors! A very special thank you to our Sports Day advisors Ms. Beuchert, Mrs. Martin, and Mr. Schreffler for bringing our campus together for this fun-filled day! • Congratulations to the Boys Tennis team! They finished second in the state at this weekend’s PIAA AA championship. They began the weekend with a quarterfinal win over Masterman, 3-2. Jonah Ng and Gavin Ferretti won in singles. Ty Hulick/Drew Brown won in doubles. They would then pick up a 3-0 victory over Quaker Valley in the semifinals. Ng, Ferretti, and Colin Troutman swept singles. It was a battle in the state championships, but the Ramblers fell short, 3-2, to Lancaster Country Day. Ferretti won his singles match, while Hulick/Brown won in doubles. They became just the second boys tennis team in District 10 history to reach a PIAA final. Congratulations to Coach Grab and the team on an incredible season! 🎾🥈
• Track & field competed at the D-10 AAA Track & Field Championships at Slippery Rock over the weekend. The girls finished second overall, with several taking gold. Lauren Raimy won the 1,600m, setting a meet record with her time of 5:03.41. Sarah Teed took second. Anne-Catherine Brown took the 3,200, while Allison Bender finished third and Rue Burkett took sixth. The 4x400m relay of Kayla Bogdanski, Reagan Johnston, Raimy, and Fina Bannister took first. The 4x800m relay of R. Johnston, Bender, Brown, and Bannister also stood atop the podium. Kendal Johnston won the high jump, setting a school record in the process with her jump of 5’3’’. Colette Speros took fourth. Tamaria Knight took sixth in the 100m, while De’Ziriana Page took eighth. Bogdanski earned silver in the 200m, while Page took fifth. The 4x100m relay of Bogdanski, Kate Peterson, Page, and Knight took fourth. K. Johnston took third in the 400m. Regina Torrance took fifth. Torrance took eighth in the 300m hurdles. Raimy took second in the 800m, while Bannister followed in third. R. Johnston took fifth. Grace Barrett and Sarah Lathan tied for fifth and set a school record in the pole vault with their 9’0” jumps. The boys finished seventh overall for the meet. David Adams-Prince took eighth in the 100m. The 4x800m relay of Noah Lata, Declan Toohey, Nick Kupniewski, and Will English took fifth. Taijoun Williams took fifth in the 200m. Adams-Prince took eighth. James Burkett took sixth in the 1600m. The 4x100m relay of Gavin Easter, Devin Easter, Williams, and Brycen Brooks took fourth. Roman Hamm took sixth in the 400m. Hank Partridge took fourth in the 300m hurdles. Kupniewski took eighth in the 800m. The 4x400m relay of Hamm, Toohey, Kupniewski, and Drew Johnson took fifth. Show Choir began their spring mini tour performing for residents at St. Joseph's in their chapel and continued for the Sisters of St. Joseph at their motherhouse. Their next performance is NEXT TUESDAY, May 21, in the H. David Bowes Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. They will be performing alongside the Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble. Their mini tour ends with the choir's annual trek to western Ohio on May 25 to compete against more than a dozen choirs from across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states. • Baseball split their doubleheader against McDowell at UPMC Park. Varsity completed a season sweep of the Trojans with their 8-1 victory. Jason Fultz had two hits, two RBI, and pitched five innings of shutout ball, striking out eight. Davin Friedman also had a pair of hits and drove in two. JVs dropped their game, 9-3. Sam Ciukaj had a pair of RBI. AJ Sirianni also drove in a run. ⚾

• Baseball swept Erie High. Varsity scored six runs in the fourth and seven in the fifth to defeat the Royals, 16-1. Jason Fultz hit two more homeruns and drove in three. Justice Laird went 3-3 with two RBI. Mathius Sprickman drove in three and got the win on the mound. Matt Oblich had two RBI, while Andrew Costello had two hits. JVs picked up a 10-0 victory. Owen Fetzner drove in two and pitched two innings of hitless baseball. Frank Thomas struck out four in his two innings, while Sam Ciukaj had two RBI. ⚾
• Four runs in the seventh inning helped softball rally to an 11-10 win at Sharpsville. Mackenzie Moore had a pair of hits, including a three-run double in the final frame. Addison Baldi, Madison Simmerman, and Sophia Primavere all had two hits apiece. 🥎
National Honor Society (NHS) held their final Community Blood Bank Blood Drive of the year yesterday! Thirty-seven units were collected. Those units will be able to help up to 111 individuals! #Prep #NHSBloodDrive 🩸
Callie Cacchione ’24 successfully completed the forensic science course last semester. This semester, she completed an independent study in this course. She was instrumental in assisting with lab setup and class preparation. She also had to complete a research paper on forensic toxicology, specifically the use of mass spectrometry, and a capstone project on the Erie “Pizza Bomber” case. Callie will be attending Tiffin University and pursuing a degree in forensic science. We are so proud of all her hard work and can’t wait to watch her continued success! #Prep #Forensics 🔬

• Boys tennis is headed to Hershey! They advanced to the PIAA quarterfinals with a 4-1 victory over North Catholic. Jonah Ng and Gavin Ferretti claimed wins in singles. James Casella/Cameron Grieshaber and Drew Brown/Ty Hulick won in doubles. 🎾
• Softball swept Conneaut. Varsity captured a share of the Region 5 title with their 5-2 win over the Eagles. Madison Simmerman struck out 11. Paige Simmerman, Mackenzie Moore, Emalie Thomas, and Mya Kaliszewski all had two hits. Cam Chimera drove in a pair. JVs won 17-2 in three innings. Sophia Primavere got the win striking out eight. • Baseball split their doubleheader with Fort LeBoeuf. Varsity scored 11 runs in the fourth inning to beat the Bison, 13-2. Andrew Costello, Jason Fultz, Jacob Koshan and Justice Laird all had two hits. Fultz drove in four. Koshan had a pair of RBI, while Costello scored three runs. JVs lost their matchup, 5-3. • Boys lacrosse lost a tight one to Meadville, 12-11. Nate Klan had four goals and an assist. Rylan Sorge had a hat trick and four assists. Charlie McBrier had a pair of goals and two assists. Alex Little and Andrew Timon also scored. Tanner Ball made 20 saves in goal. 🥍
