Students participated in our 10th annual Box Village event last night! Box Village is a hunger and homelessness awareness movement where students give up everything for one night to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness on our community. Students “lived” in the village from 6:00 p.m. yesterday until 8:00 a.m. this morning. This year’s event was different from years past due to it occurring during the week instead of the weekend. The idea being that students live more in solidarity with those who are experiencing homelessness and then need to report to a job the next day, with school being their “job.” Students also helped make Christmas cards throughout the night and celebrated Mass altogether. All funds raised from the event benefit the Emmaus Soup Kitchen.
