Last week, our dancers just returned from an unforgettable trip to the Big Apple—and what an experience it was! From the bright lights of Times Square to the iconic stages of Broadway, our students immersed themselves in the magic, history, and artistry of New York City.
Our dancers dove into the groundbreaking history of American theatre at the Museum of Broadway. They enjoyed dinner with a side of show tunes sung by Broadway’s rising stars at Gayle’s Broadway Rose. They took part in workshops with Broadway dancers from “Chicago,” Martha Graham Company, and even the Rockettes! Each class pushed our students to new levels of precision, style, and expression. They also enjoyed classes at the Broadway Dance Center, dancing alongside NYC professionals in the heart of the Theatre District. They took in live performances of “Chicago” and the Martha Graham Company, inspiring and igniting their love for the art form.
Our dancers also had the opportunity to explore the city, visiting Central Park, Grand Central Station, Times Square, and Canal Street, soaking in the city’s culture, cuisine, and charm. They ended their journey at the top of Midtown, SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, taking in views as breathtaking as the trip itself. They closed out the trip with mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, providing a moment of peace and reflection in one of the most beautiful churches in the world.
To our amazing dance students—you danced with heart, represented Cathedral Prep with excellence, and embraced this moment with passion. This trip was more than just a visit, it was an experience that will stay with us forever!
