school resumes

Cathedral Prep and will open tomorrow, Wednesday, December 4, for in-person classes. We know that this is in the best interest of our students’ well-being and their learning. Our team has done a great job managing through the storm, and we thank them for all of their hard work. We also understand that some families and faculty members are still snowed in, so absences will be excused, and alternate work will be provided for those unable to attend in person. We ask parents to use their discretion in making this decision with our full support.

For your information, road conditions have improved substantially. We suggest driving main roads. The side streets near the school are still untreated by and large, but access to our parking lots and school buildings is very good. Additional information:

  • School will run on normal hours. Please give yourself extra time for travel and drive safely.

  • Given the conditions, students may wear casual attire, and we strongly encourage footwear with good grip and warmth and warm outerwear. Spirit wear is always the best way to go!

  • Extracurriculars, including athletics, will operate. Some programs may be impacted if the faculty advisor/coach is unable to attend.

  • Local public schools may or may not be in person tomorrow, so please check with them if you utilize their transportation.

  • Our school bus service from Meadville will operate.

  • We will run a shuttle from the student lot at the corner of Chestnut and 11th streets. Walkways from the MTA lot are clear.

  • Snow is covering some of the parking spaces in our lots. Faculty at MTA will park in alternate spots so that students have ample parking. There should be plenty of spots at Chestnut and 11th St.

  • There will be no parking on city streets, only in our parking lots.

Our academic team will follow with specific information about the school day tomorrow. We will monitor conditions day to day to determine when campus would be open or closed.

If you have questions, please reach out to Mr. Ladouceur or Mr. Smith through email.
