We’re pleased to introduce you to Mrs. Jessica Lucas, Cathedral Prep’s new dance instructor!
Mrs. Lucas is originally from Erie and has been a dancer for most of her life. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Slippery Rock University, where she was recognized and awarded for her talent as a performer, choreographer, and teacher. This earned her the chance to study with many professional dance companies and helped her launch an impressive performance career after graduation. She performed for Walt Disney World Company in Orlando, Florida, toured internationally with Feld Entertainment as a dancer and performer, and got the opportunity to work with several well-known dance companies and choreographers around the country.
Not only does Mrs. Lucas bring valuable experience as a professional dance performer, but she also has more than 25 years of experience teaching all levels and genres of dance. She’s judged dance competitions throughout the country, coached competitive dance teams, developed choreography for plays, and led local summer intensives and clinics. Mrs. Lucas’ passion for sharing her love and knowledge of dance is evident through her active involvement with the National Dance Education Organization and her commitment to continuing education and obtaining additional certifications.
Mrs. Lucas will be teaching all the dance classes at Prep this coming year, and we are really looking forward to the growth and development of our Dance Department under her leadership. Welcome to the Rambler family, Mrs. Lucas!
