Cathedral Prep Baccalaureate Mass for the Class of 2023 was celebrated yesterday at Saint Peter Cathedral. Each senior was accompanied by an alumnus or alumna of Prep or Villa, while friends and family filled the congregation. Baccalaureate serves as a final chance for seniors, their families, and the faculty and administration of Prep to come together and celebrate Mass as a community. It is an opportunity for students to share their faith with friends and family and remember the wonderful times the Class of 2023 shared.
The Mass was celebrated by Cathedral Prep Chaplain Fr. Jason Feigh and concelebrated by Fr. Mike DeMartinis and Fr. John Detisch ’80. After communion, the soon-to-be graduates were pinned by a Prep or Villa alum. Students were pinned by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, coaches, and friends. No matter what the year of graduation, every alum shares a common bond of brotherhood and sisterhood.
The Class of 2023 was then welcomed into the Alumni Association by alumna and Board Chairwoman Sara Weber Kallner ’93VMA. She commended this year’s graduating class for the exceptional manner in which they not only overcame unprecedented adversity during their four, short years of high school, but also for the way they embraced these challenges with faith, confidence, and grace. Kallner praised the Class of 2023 for their leadership into this new era and for the way they brought the Villa sisterhood and Prep brotherhood together to make our family whole, making thousands of Prep and Villa alumni proud.
The evening was a wonderful example of a tradition that is exceptionally special for graduates of Prep. 🟠🔵⚫✝
