**Cathedral Prep is one of the few schools in the state that require 100% of students to take a college admission test.**

Cathedral Prep has several special academic programs that are available to qualified students:

Gannon Scholars Program

Select Juniors and Seniors with high-ranking QPAs may alternatively be in invited to participate in the Gannon Dual Enrollment Program. Students in their first year of the program are eligible to take two courses each semester on the Gannon University campus in the morning and return to Cathedral Prep when classes are finished.

Courses are taken for college credit that can be transferable to other schools, and students will meet with the school Guidance Counselor to enroll and select classes each semester. All costs associated with this program are in addition to regular Prep tuition. Students will be selected in rank order based on their QPA until the available slots at Gannon are filled.

Students must maintain a B average or higher in all courses and maintain an attendance record consistent with Gannon’s Freshman Class expectations. Failure to do so will result in a student’s removal from the program. Students operate on professor policies for all course participation, grading, and final exams. Mid-term grades from Gannon will be used as the 1st quarter and 3rd quarter grades, however, the final grade is the one that goes on students’ transcripts (not averaged as would occur with a course taken at Prep).

College in High School at the University of Pittsburgh

Prep also participates in the College in High School program at the University of Pittsburgh (https://www.chs.pitt.edu/ ) to give students college credit in several other courses taught on the Prep campus in Social Studies and Latin.

Cathedral Prep continues to pursue agreements with additional colleges and universities in an effort to offer even greater opportunities to students. Programs will be made available to all students who meet the requirements of the individual institution.
